How do I become a member?

You can register to be a member of the British Society for Geomorphology using the link provided at the bottom of this page or in the top right menu panel.

Why should I become a member?

Membership of the BSG provides contact with a world-wide body of geomorphologists, giving you a network of academics, professional geomorphologists, postgraduates and overseas contacts.  We aim to foster an environment of sharing, developing and building on individual knowledge as well as driving forward the importance of geomorphological study and practice.

As well as this, you have access to:

  • Discounted subscription and free online access (2010 onward) to Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, the Society’s journal.
  • Regular electronic newsletters from the BSG containing news, views, reports, grant calls and much more;
  • Access to research funding totalling over £30,000 per year (including research grants of up to £5000 and funds targeted specifically at postgraduates for fieldwork and conference attendance);
  • Participation in working groups on hot topics and emergent fields, training workshops, conferences and field trips.
  • Online access to “Geomorphological techniques” web-based resource;
  • Discounted subscriptions to other Journals – e.g. Hydrological Processes, Journal of Quaternary Science & Geomorphology.
  • Sponsorship for other conferences and workshops (e.g. EGU, AGU and IAG).
