Recent publications have highlighted the challenges currently faced in the communication of geomorphology, the decline in the use of the term in academic literature, and a lack of public awareness of what falls under the diverse umbrella of our discipline. In February 2015 the BSG funded a 3-year Fixed Term Working Group to evaluate how geomorphology is perceived by a range of audiences; further details about the FTWG can be found on the BSG website here: http://geomorphology.org.uk/node/1024

The Group’s first task is to gather information about communication activities/initiatives that are already in place, and to gauge opinion within the BSG membership on how we might improve the public’s perception of geomorphology. We would appreciate 10-15 minutes of your time to complete this short survey to pass on your own experiences of communicating geomorphology. Any information you provide will be kept confidential.
