This year's Annual Meeting of the British Society for Geomorphology (BSG) will be held at The University of Hull from the 4th-6th  September 2017.

The call for abstracts and conference registration is now open, please download the abstract template from the downloads section above, complete the form and email the completed form to [email protected]

To register for the conference please visit the registration website. The costs for the conference are:

Early bird BSG member                 £235.00

Early bird Student BSG member    £125.00

Non-member registration               £350.00

These costs cover the gala dinner, icebreaker, morning and afternoon refreshments and lunches. Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available on campus for the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights at a cost of £65 per night (avaiable on the registration website)


The conference offers the following highlights:

- Open themed, single session conference hosted in the new Middleton Hall: disseminate your research widely within geomorphology!

- Optional Early Career Researcher training sessions:

      a. Enhance your REF- and TEF- readiness session (Brian Whalley)

      b. Meet the Editor - publishing and reviewing in geomorphology (Stuart Lane)

- Optional experimental workshop (3rd and 4th September), focussed on scaling, experimental modelling design and state-of-the-art measurement techniques (£20 per person; available to book on the registration website);

- Keynote addresses by this year’s BSG award winners, including:

      David Linton Award: Prof. Tim Burt (Durham)

      Gordon Warwick Award: Dr. Martin Austin (Bangor)

      Dick Chorley Award: Dr. Virginia Ruiz-Villanueva (Geneva)

- A social programme centred in Hull's famous and historic Fruit Market, with the Conference Dinner at the Deep Aquarium on the banks of the Humber Estuary.
