New Associate Editors: Earth Surface Processes and Landforms
The new associate editors of ESP&L are: Dr Joanna E. Bullard (Loughborough University),
Dr Stephen E. Darby (University of Southampton), Prof. Arjun M. Heimsath (Arizona State University),
Prof. Michael J. Kirkby (University of Leeds) and Dr Oliver Korup (WSL Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF)
New section in ESP&L: Earth Surface Exchanges (ESEX)
Enlivening discussion and debate amongst the geomorphological community,
through rapid handling of short articles subject to only light review, the
section has three types of articles:
Letters to ESEX
Take advantage of this new format to get rapid publication of important
methodological developments and substantive results. Letters are worked up
into a full ESP journal paper after publication. Some published examples:
ESEX Commentaries
Academics are encouraged to provide commentaries on particular topics, issues, debates etc.
as a means of encouraging both reflection and discussion. These might be based on conference
papers or journal articles presented outside ESPL; a theme or topic that has engaged the
commentator; or an ongoing concern for the discipline. Some published examples:
ESEX Exchanges (discussion papers)
The forum for ongoing discussion and debate, involving contributions to ESP&L.
ESEX Exchanges remain open, allowing issues to be revisited in the light of new understanding
