Funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), the RG-geoenv is one of seven subject-based guides to quality information resources. Freely available to those engaged in higher education in the UK, the Guide is available in both printed and web formats, and is supported by a programme of free outreach activities, including current awareness sessions and hands-on workshops. For regular updates, sign up to the RGGeoEnv announcements list at: www.jiscmail.ac.uk/rg-geoenv-announce.html. Review submitted by A.Gardner (John Rylands University Library of Manchester) with JISC, 28/10/03.

Education Media Online (EMOL)
A JISC-funded set of ten collections of non-fiction film and video (and their associated metadata), comprising 300 hours of high-quality material for download, including extensive collections of relevance to Geography and Earth Science. The collection is fully indexed and searchable, may be downloaded either in full or as segments, and can be used freely in learning, teaching and research. The service is free to UK FE and HE institutions which have registered and appointed a site representative. Check with your library and/or information service for further details.
