Wiley AwardThe Wiley Award is given to the best paper published in the BSG's Journal Earth Surface Processes and Landforms. The paper is selected from the volume of the journal for the given year of the Award. Latest WinnerDr Rob Westaway
Although choosing the Wiley Award is a hugely difficult task, the committee agreed upon several papers which reflected the best of current geomorphological research, i.e. were innovative, thought-provoking and represented real advances in knowledge. Our final choice for the award for volume 31 (awarded 2007) is: Westaway, R. 2006 Investigation of coupling between surface processes and induced flow in the lower continental crust as a cause of intraplate seismicity. Earth Surface Processes and Landforms 31, 1480-1509. The committee were all fascinated by this paper, which provides a highly innovative assessment of the link between climatically-induced erosion and sedimentation and intraplate seismicity. We felt that the paper had huge potential to stimulate geomorphological research both within and outside the existing geomorphological community. |
