Tom Dunne (Professor)
Tom Dunne (Professor of Environmental Science and Management, and of Earth Science at the University of California Santa Barbara) is awarded the Linton Award this year. Throughout his career Tom has published a large number of papers that are widely cited and have, more than once, significantly changed the direction of our research, in the fields of both hydrology and geo-morphology. He is currently studying how physical and biological processes interact to create and maintain habitat for fish and their food sources. Among other honours he is a Fellow of the AGU and a member of the (US) National Academy of Science, and the BSG felt it fitting now to cap these with a geomorphological award.
